Semester ticket

Following the successful vote in winter 2012, a semester ticket was introduced in Munich for the first time in the 2013/14 winter semester. It is based on a base model to keep the burden bearable for all those who use public transport less intensively.

The Solidarity Contribution

For the payment of the solidarity fee, each student receives an MVV card (logo printed on the student card) for the entire network during off-peak hours, i.e. Monday to Friday between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following day, as well as Saturday, Sunday, on holidays and on December 24 and 31 without time restrictions.

The Semester Ticket (IsarCard Semester)

The purchase of the surcharge is voluntary and removes the time restriction during off-peak hours, allowing the ticket to be used "around the clock", i.e. 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, for an entire semester.
