Volunteers of the University Policy Department

Description

The University Policy Department is dedicated to university policy issues at the Technical University of Munich itself, but also beyond. The matters and opinions of the student body that are represented provide the framework for action. But within this framework you can give free rein to your imagination and contribute your own ideas like in hardly any other department.

Possible tasks

  • Assisting the Chairs in writing press releases
  • Obtaining information
  • Establish and maintain communication with other universities (especially Bavaria-wide) to be able to act in a coordinated manner on actions and important strategic issues
  • Public relations (prepare university policy issues to be spread to students via our social media channels)
  • Further development of Teaching and examinations (what should lectures, seminars, exams etc. look like in the future?)
  • Contacts and networking with externals such as associations and organizations
  • Internal networking (contact to/between the student bodies, further education and network meetings)
  • Internal university policy education work, for example, in the form of round tables
  • Taking minutes (during the meeting, summarize speeches and discussion results)

... and everything else you can think of. There are only a few limits to the HoPo work!

This is you

  • You are agile in your thinking and acting and like to get quickly familiar with new topics
  • You have a responsible and independent perception of the necessary work
  • You enjoy recurring tasks that require precise and accurate work
  • You have sufficient persistence to support the department

Heads of the StudiTUM houses

For general coordination or just for individual houses.

Description

Probably the most important, but at the same time the smallest StudiTUM is located at the main campus. Here, the number of places to stay and study is the lowest in relation to the number of students. StudiTUM Munich is trying to close this gap. On almost 500 m² there are about 100 study places and a lounge for another 20 people. Unfortunately, it was not structurally possible to provide a second escape route. As a result, the number of people per floor is unfortunately limited to a maximum of 30. In order to at least relieve the learning space situation in the city center during the exam period, another StudiTUM is already being planned at the Klinikum rechts der Isar, which, of course, like all StudiTUM houses, will be open to all TU Munich students.

Your tasks

  • Overview and co-supervision of the three existing StudiTUM houses at the main campus, Garching and Weihenstephan
  • Creation of offers for students in the houses (music room, use by student university groups)
  • Lobbying the TUM Board of Management for the construction of further buildings (e.g. at the Klinikum rechts der Isar)
  • Participation in the planning and creation of new StudiTUM buildings
  • Coordination of room management

This is you

  • You have the ability to think and act in a networked manner
  • You are flexible enough to work at different TUM locations
  • You want to work with people, are a team player, enthusiastic and have the strength to stand up for others
