When is the university election and how can I vote?

On election day, you can cast your votes in person or by absentee ballot in advance. From the 2024 semester onward, there will presumably be an option for online voting.

You can apply for absentee ballots in TUMonline. We have explained how this works in the video and text below. You can apply for the documents up to two weeks before the actual election. We advise international students to apply for the documents earlier to compensate for any postal delays.

Request absentee ballot

First, click on Apply for absentee ballot in TUMonline under Documents. Then you can select the address to which the documents should be sent.

As soon as you have the absentee ballot papers in your hands, you can fill them out according to the instructions on the ballot papers. Then either send the documents by post to the electoral office or hand them in personally.

That's it!

If you pick up the documents in person at the electoral office, the application will be possible for one week longer.
