StudiTUM Privileges

Starting 2019, accredited student groups can apply for support via TUM. Supported groups receive storage space and room reservation rights in StudiTUM buildings.

This support is financed by tuition substitution funds.

Student groups don’t have to pay to make use of it, so StudiTUM privileges are a great option even for student groups without a registered legal form.

Applications can be submitted via a wiki form that opens every February.

Applications are evaluated by a committee of student representatives and TUM staff and the available places are allocated. The funding period runs from April 1st to March 31st.

StudiTUM funding is not a component of accreditation!

  • Accreditation is a prerequisite for the StudiTUM funding. At the time of application for StudiTUM funding, a group must already be accredited.
  • StudiTUM funding is a separate status with ist own application process which includes more criteria than accreditation.
    • There is only one application period per year for StudiTUM funding. In contrast, accreditation can be applied for on an ongoing basis, but must be decided at a meeting of the TUM Student Council.
  • StudiTUM support is limited to one year and requires an annual application to be maintained. In contrast, accreditation is for an unlimited period, but is usually withdrawn if the accountability report is not submitted on time.

  • In addition to questions by e-mail, groups may be invited to introduce themselves to the commission with a presentation followed by a a Q&A session.
  • The list of groups is decided by the TUM Student Council, which may strike groups from the list.

There is no possibility to receive StudiTUM room reservation rights outside of this process - even in case slots become free during the year.
