Finance Department

The Finance Department is occupied equally by up to two students elected by the Student Council. The primary responsibilities of the Finance Department are to prepare calculations and balance sheets, monitor cash receipts and disbursements, and make transfers and bookings. They also work with the respective officers to obtain quotes for new purchases and make recommendations on financial matters. Since the finance officers also manage the budget for AStA events, such as the TUNIX Open-Air, they are responsible for both organizational and administrative work.

No previous knowledge is necessary for the incorporation, but self-confidence and interest in the subject are usually helpful in order to find your way around the topic within a few weeks. Handling funds requires a high degree of responsibility and trustworthiness. Negotiation skills and empathy are an advantage, after all, negotiations have to be conducted - both internally and externally - when making purchasing decisions.

Working here offers the opportunity to gain initial experience in accounting and financial accounting, to get to know TUM from an internal perspective and to make contact with many different characters.
